Chreos HQ flooded !
Chreos headquarters, located in downtown Christchurch (New Zealand), suffered its first natural disaster !
While staff were enjoying a public holiday a freak hailstorm clogged guttering the the Guthery Centre. While we all sat by our heaters at home our office was slowly filling with water. When we returned to work the following day we were greeted to water filled laptops and soggy computers.

While industrial dehumidifiers dried the office, phones were diverted and we worked from home. By mid day full support was restored and little inconvenience was noticed by our clients. Days later when we were able to return (to brand new computers :) ) normal service resumed. Most customers never realised it had stopped. So while not the greatest of events it did prove our disaster plans were up to the task. |
